Movie Festival

This week  Buse, Aysenur and me went to two movie festivals.

On saturday we went to Bornova forum because of the Europe day. I even didn't know that a Europe day exists. The programme was about european movies with turkish subtitles. It has been very nice but the bad things it was that the room was empty and nobody was there, so the cinema was ours!

Firts movie we saw it was italian one, "La sedia della felicità"  (Mutluluğun Sandalyesi) by C. Mazzacurati. It is a comedy and I really liked it, I suggest to see it because it is very funny.

Then we saw a documentary which title is Hayalimdeki Yolculuk organized by Turkish Council about 25 turkish guys that won a competiton called My Imaginary Journey and went to  Europe by bus. They visited Belgium, France, Switzerland and Italy and realized the trip od their dreams.
You can find it in here at this link
Last movie we saw it was a polish drama movie with turkish subtitles. Even if I couldn't understand the words the movie was very good and beautiful. I suggest to see it too even if it will make you cry because it is about a truth story.
Some info about the movie to this link:

I hope girls understood something more about the meaning of "europe" and mostly the importance of speaking english because they will have a key to read much more better the world and understand other cultures.
The day after we went to another movie festival  about strikes in french culture centre: Isci Filmeri Festivali. Before movies started a man and a woman performed in a concert. He plyaed guitar and she flaut. What a surprise in listening "Oh Bella Ciao!" turkish version.

First movie we saw was Nefes Olmayinca by Emin Kuleci. He speaks about protest of building central nuclear in the city of Gerze. You can read an article about this topic in here.

Second movie title was Üç-Beş Ağaç Kervanı. It talkes about a group of people that is still going in many cities of Turkey to discuss about nuclear problem and fight against the building of it. The comany use theatre and music performances to involve people in their project. Here there is their facebook page.

The last movie is called Çöpten Bir Hayat by Serdan Narin and speaks about the wasted area of Harmandali and problems related to it. Here the trailer.

After the festival we found a very nice event of students from different countries.

Walking in Izmir I found this billboard. It is good, because mostly of the people that I have met in these months do not know the EVS programme.

And  5 of may I also took part at the Hidrellez celebration with my friend Irem. That night Izmir's sky was amazing and the moon was huge.
